Jon Glasby was invited to join an international panel of experts as part of the inaugural International Federation on Ageing/DaneAge Global Think Tank on Ageing (the ‘Copenhagen’ summit).  Nicknamed the ‘Davos of Ageing’ by organisers, Jon was part of a group of international academics and practitioners reviewing the evidence on what works in terms of reablement services, making a series of practical recommendations to national and international policy makers.  This follows a recent WHO (2015) World Report on Ageing and Health, which calls for co-ordinated action to maximise individual capabilities while at the same time creating an environment which supports healthy ageing.  Jon’s participation in the Think Tank was based on previous and current work around:

• Older people’s experiences of emergency hospital admission
• What works in terms of prevention (‘the billion dollar question’)
• Ways in which local authorities prioritise investment in prevention
• The impact of intermediate care

Jon has also appeared on film as part of the ‘prevention library’ launched by the UK’s Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE).
