The University of Birmingham and Delhi Technological University have signed a new partnership agreement this week promoting collaboration in teaching and research activities. The signing coincides with Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University Professor Pritam B. Sharma receiving an honorary doctorate from Birmingham during the degree congregations taking place from 3 to 11 July.

The signing coincides with Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University Professor Pritam B. Sharma receiving an honorary doctorate from Birmingham during the degree congregations taking place from 3 to 11 July.
The Memorandum of Understanding will enable the two institutions to explore joint research and development in Computational Intelligence and Cyber Security, Bio-medical Engineering, Material Science, Robotics and Machine Vision, and Renewable Energy Systems.
The universities will also look at potential development of collaborative programmes in Bio-medical Engineering, Cyber Security and New Generation Energy Systems. In addition, the agreement will facilitate faculty and student exchange, as well as joint conferences and seminars.
An alumnus of Birmingham, Professor Pritam B. Sharma is the founder Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University, and Founder Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi Technology University, Bhopal. In 1978, Professor Sharma received a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham. Professor Sharma has made distinguished contributions in the areas of Green Energy Technologies and Knowledge and Innovation Management.
