Ema Sullivan-Bissett joins the Epistemic Innocence Project. She will begin as a Research Fellow on Professor Lisa Bortolotti's AHRC-funded project in September. The Philosophy department is delighted to welcome her!

Sullivan-Bissett's research interests are in the philosophy of mind and psychology, specifically belief and its connection to truth, self-deception, and delusion. She is also interested in biological approaches to what are characteristically thought to be normative questions in philosophy of mind, epistemology, and ethics.

With regard to the Epistemic Innocence project, she is currently thinking about whether the notion of epistemic innocence might inform a different function ascription: the function of producing epistemically innocent beliefs, which looks particularly plausible for delusional beliefs.
