Lawyers, Ladies and Liberty – as Issues in Criminal Justice are explored

Director of Public Prosecutions, Sir Ken MacDonald QC, will deliver a lecture to Birmingham Law School today as the Issues in Criminal Justice starts its eighth series.

Sir Ken MacDonald will address Free Expression and the Rule of law in which he will address whether there are or should be appropriate limits to free speech, the approach of the criminal law, over time, to this issue and the role of prosecutors. He will answer questions from the audience. Sir Ken has dealt with a number of related cases recently.

The lecture tonight will open the series, which will also present the Attorney General, the Rt Hon the Baroness Scotland QC and Shami Chakrabarti, Director of Liberty.
