How does the training provider deliver the training?

My training provider is BPP University. They deliver the training online, via a 2-hour lecture with set preparation, collaboration and consolidation work.

How does your coach/mentor support you?

My coach supports me via regular 121's and through setting consistent and achievable goals for my apprenticeship.

What is your typical day at work?

My typical day at work varies, depending on whether it is a 'clinic day' or not. My main role is Administrator of our school's Pro Bono clinic, which means that I help to provide free legal advice for people in the West Midland's. Overall, I communicate with clients daily, via telephone, email or even in person. I process client's legal enquiries and see if they would be a good fit for our FLAG Clinic. I update our software and client databases daily, ensuring these are always as accurate as possible so we can always act in the best interest of our clients.

What has been the best part of your apprenticeship?

The best part about my apprenticeship is the satisfaction of knowing I am simultaneously helping those in need, kickstarting an amazing career as well as learning in an inspiring environment. I was apprehensive about committing to an apprenticeship at first, due to university being the more common route, but I am so glad that I made this choice. The community around me is incredibly supportive, and I feel so lucky to be a part of such a great scheme. Learning while earning is not easy, but it is most definitely rewarding.

What do you hope to do on completion of your apprenticeship?

On completion of my Paralegal Apprenticeship, I hope to continue climbing the ladder in the law world, and hopefully start a Solicitor Apprenticeship with my current provider, or obtain a Training contract from a law firm. I would like to have the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and further my career at an early age.
