The University of Birmingham makes a global impact through our world-leading research, our partnerships with a wide range of international institutions and through our international community of researchers and students. Over 5,000 students from 150 countries worldwide choose to study with us, and 31% of our academic staff are non-UK nationals, demonstrating that Birmingham attracts the brightest talent to its academic community from around the globe. Our success at attracting research funding marks us out as one of the UK's most successful research institutions, and we have partnerships, research relationships and alumni across the globe.
Our partners are located across every populated continent. We have permanent representation in Brazil, China, India and Nigeria, and offices in Brussels at the heart of the European Union. We are using these links to build partnerships that will enhance our research, internationalise the educational experience that we offer and develop a global perspective amongst our staff and students.
Our global impact also reflects back on our students and staff, as they are exposed to international opportunities. Our aim is that an ability to operate across the globe will be what distinguishes the Birmingham graduate, academic and professional of the future.
