Dr Phil Tilman Brand
Dr. Phil Tilman Brand has studied sociology, economics and politics at the universities of Marburg, Leicester and Bremen.
After working for the Collaborative Research Center 'Transformations of the State' at the University of Bremen in 2007, he was a research fellow at the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony, Hanover, (KFN) between 2007 and 2012. At the KFN he worked on his doctoral thesis dealing with the implementation of a home visiting program for socially disadvantaged families.
Since 2012 he is head of the Unit Social Epidemiology at the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology - BIPS. His major research interests are social determinants of health with specific reference to gender and migration and life-course related prevention.
