Venepuncture performed by Paul Doody (ESR2)
Phlebotomy Practice
Earlier in March, Paul Doody (ESR2) and Justin Aunger (ESR3) attended phlebotomy training at the University of Birmingham. In the photo , Paul is depicted applying a tourniquet to Evans (ESR4) prior to performing a practice blood draw. To ensure safety of participants, it is customary at the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Birmingham to obtain 30 supervised practices before being allowed to perform it in the field alone. ESRs will use the next few months to obtain the 30 supervised practices which will then support their research.
