Dr. Kari Davies (Birmingham)

Dr. Davies’ interests lie in crime linkage and behavioural investigative advice, and she has recently completed her PhD investigating the practice of crime linkage in the UK and abroad. She has published a number of book chapters and articles in peer reviewed journals, written for the police magazine Garda Review and the Crime Analyst’s Research Digest, and regularly acts as a reviewer for academic journals and publishers. She is the network facilitator of the Crime Linkage International NetworK and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dr. Davies’ recent work has looked at how analysts use the Violent Crime Linkage Analysis System to assist with the process of crime linkage, and how the process of linkage differs between countries. Much of her work has been conducted through secondments into practitioners’ workplaces, and she has collaborated with both the Home Office and several police forces in the UK, as well as law enforcement in Belgium and Singapore. Dr. Davies regularly lectures on the subjects of crime linkage and profiling at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. She currently works as a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, and as a Senior Teaching Fellow and Research Fellow at University College London.
