What sort of leadership does Birmingham need to be a successful city?
- Location
- Birmingham Business School
- Dates
- Monday 20 April 2015 (18:00-19:30)
The publication of the Kerslake Review into the performance of Birmingham City Council has generated a wide-ranging debate through public meetings and social media, which has been supported informally by academics from the three universities in the Birmingham region.
The debate has focussed on a number of broad themes including poverty, economic growth, local democracy and how to make Birmingham a better place to live, work and thrive.
The University of Birmingham is delighted to be hosting the next public debate, in conjunction with ‘News In Brum’, on the theme of leadership, posing the question ‘What sort of leadership does Birmingham need to be a successful city?’
The discussion panel will include our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir David Eastwood; Birmingham City Council’s Chief Executive Mark Rogers; Vice-Chancellor of Birmingham City University, Professor Cliff Allan; Director of INLOGOV, Catherine Staite; and National Express’ Director of Communications, Jack Kelly. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the debate.
Refreshments will be served in the Business School atrium from 17:30, with the debate beginning at 18:00. We do hope that you are able to join us for what promises to be an enlightening evening.
Registration for this event is now closed.
