Course Structure
This course will run over 4 years full-time with an integrated foundation year, comprising of lectures, case study work, online assignments, and project-work collaboratively supervised by research-led academics and industry engineers.
The Foundation Year prepares you for undergraduate study by covering essential subjects such as calculus, electronics, mathematics, mechanics, statistics, and academic English.
This preparatory year will help you gain a solid grounding in engineering principles. Successful completion guarantees progression to the Computer Engineering BSc programme.

Teaching is jointly delivered by academic staff in Dubai and the UK, offering high-quality learning resources and assessments where students can undertake interdisciplinary or industry-supervised projects.

Entry requirements
To secure your place at the University of Birmingham Dubai, you must meet both our general entry requirements and the specific criteria for your chosen course. Your application will be carefully reviewed by the course’s Admissions Tutor, who will determine if you will receive an offer.

English language requirements
In order to undertake a programme of study here at the University, you will need to demonstrate that you have a good level of written and spoken English. You can demonstrate your level of English with IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or alternative qualifications.
Fees and scholarships
The University tuition fee covers the cost of your tuition, examination and graduation.

Janaury 2025 start (Foundation Year only)
The above fee applies to the Foundation Year only. Subsequent year's annual tuition fee on the programme will be AED 132,778 for January 2025 entry.
Paying your tuition fees
We charge an annual tuition fee (per year of study). The tuition fee will also be payable in subsequent years of your programme.
Tuition fees can be paid in full or in three instalments per year of study.
