Engage in small class sizes, personalised one-to-one sessions with your tutor and learn from academics in the UK and Dubai.
You’ll be taught using a combination of lectures and tutorials with lecturers using innovative teaching techniques where possible. You’ll work in groups and make presentations, the skills that are valued by employers.
30 hours weekly contact time. The remainder will be self-guided study based on content and requirement of specific modules.
Modules are assessed using a combination of exams, tests and coursework, the mix of which will be dependent upon the modules you select.
Finance is a diverse subject that will expose you to a wide range of related careers as trainee accountants in professional practice, industry or the public sector, tax consultancy or banking, although you’ll also receive broad-based, transferrable skills sought after by a diverse range of employers.
We will support you every step of the way, making sure you have the right skills to succeed in the job market and have access to events covering CV writing, interview preparation and summer internships, and regular careers fairs where employers visit campus.
We also offer mentoring support through all specialisms and a final-year placement that will be the stepping stone to your career.
The modules described here are the ones that we currently offer and will give you a good idea of the range of subjects that we teach. However, as our undergraduate teaching is research led and we constantly review our teaching to ensure that the modules that we offer are up to date, there may be changes to module titles and content.
Like all UAE Ministry of Education Higher Education Institutions, we run the compulsory modules listed below. These modules are designed to support talented graduates in the region, with the skills to aid and further employability.

To gain a place at Birmingham you will need to meet our general entry requirements, as well as those specific to your course. Your application will be reviewed by the course’s Admissions Tutor, who will decide whether your application should receive an offer.
3 A Levels. Typical offer AAA-ABB. GCSE Mathematics minimum grade 7/A if you are not taking Mathematics or Further Mathematics at A Level (or equivalent).
General Studies not accepted.
7,6,6 at Higher Level with a minimum of 32 points overall.
In order to undertake a programme of study here at the University, you will need to demonstrate that you have a good level of written and spoken English. You can demonstrate your level of English with IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or alternative qualifications.
