We attract the best and brightest students from across the globe. To ensure we recognise students who will flourish at the University, a range of prestigious scholarships are available.
Our scholarships benefit all new students at our Dubai campus, across all levels of study (foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate) and study patterns (part time or full time). The financial rewards are carried forward throughout all years of study*, including our student exchange year in the UK.
*Unless your final or master’s year of study is in the UK; BSc Biomedical Science, MSci Biomedical Science, MEng Mechanical Engineering, MEng Computer Science and Software Engineering. Additionally, the scholarship does not apply to the final year (second year) of our MSc Mental Health (Clinical) programme.
Scholarship awards are based on predicted grades and are subject to the accuracy of results provided in the application form.

The 125 Scholarship
This milestone anniversary marks a legacy of driving change and shaping society since Queen Victoria granted our Royal Charter in 1900. The 125 Scholarship celebrates 125 years of impact by supporting 125 high-achieving future-focused individuals joining us in September 2025 to secure a global top 100 university education. The prestigious scholarship covers 50% of tuition fees and is awarded to outstanding students who exhibit the highest standards of academic excellence.
This is an exclusive award, offered on an invitation-only basis.
Chancellor's Academic Merit Scholarship
Chancellor's Academic Merit Scholarship
The Chancellor's Academic Merit Scholarship is based on predicted grades. The scholarship will apply to all years of study including our student exchange year in the UK, unless your final and/or master's year of study is in the UK; BSc Biomedical Science, MSci Biomedical Science, MEng Mechanical Engineering, MEng Computer Science and Software Engineering.
For our postgraduate programmes, the Chancellor's Academic Merit Scholarship will be based on your bachelor's (or equivalent) grades. The scholarship is applied to the full tuition fee of the programme regardless of whether it is full-time or part-time. Unless you apply for the MSc Mental Health programme where it will be applicable to Year 1 only.

Jinan University – University of Birmingham Joint Institute Scholarship
Jinan University – University of Birmingham Joint Institute Scholarship
The Jinan University – University of Birmingham Joint Institute Scholarship is an exclusive scholarship offered to students graduating from the Jinan University – University of Birmingham Joint Institute (JBJI) in Guangzhou.
These scholarships for postgraduate programmes at the University of Birmingham Dubai range from 20% to 30% across all years of study depending on academic performance:
- JBJI graduates achieving a 1st will be eligible for a 30% scholarship
- JBJI graduates achieving a 2:1 will be eligible for a 25% scholarship
- JBJI graduates achieving a 2:2 will be eligible for a 20% scholarship
This is stand-alone and cannot be combined.
Alumni Connections Scholarship
Alumni Connections Scholarship
Our 20% Alumni Connections Scholarship applies to all years of study and is awarded to alumni and their family members (parents, siblings, or spouses). A copy of the alum's University of Birmingham degree certificate is required and only eligible for family members of students who have successfully completed the programme from Dubai or Edgbaston.

Corporate Scholarship
Corporate Scholarship
Our 30% Corporate Scholarship applies to all years of study and is reserved for our key partners (Dubai Police, Al Futtaim Education, RTA). You must provide evidence by producing an employee card.

I am absolutely delighted to have been awarded the Chancellor’s Scholarship as I embark on this new career path which will enable me to give a little back to future generations. To be able to do this through a global top 100 and elite UK Russell Group university here in Dubai is, indeed, a wonderful opportunity that I am very much looking forward to.
How to receive a scholarship
Scholarships are automatically reviewed and awarded after a prospective applicant receives and accepts a Conditional Offer from the University of Birmingham Dubai and satisfies their deposit payment condition of 5,000 AED.
A separate scholarship application is not required. All offers are reviewed for scholarship eligibility, subject to the completion of the deposit payment.
General terms and conditions
Scholarships apply to all years of study including our student exchange year in the UK, unless your final and/or master's year of study is in the UK; BSc Biomedical Science, MSci Biomedical Science, MEng Mechanical Engineering, MEng Computer Science and Software Engineering. Additionally, the scholarship does not apply to the final year (second year) of our MSc Mental Health (Clinical) programme.
- A student must receive an offer for entry to a full or part-time UG or PG programme to be eligible for a scholarship
- You must click on ‘accept’ on your offer to indicate you are interested in joining and pay the deposit by the date mentioned in your offer letter. Your scholarship award will then be issued within 10 working days via email
- A student must be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship, to receive the scholarship
- Scholarships cannot be deferred and will not apply to any re-sit exams
- Scholarships are non-negotiable and once issued will be final
- Scholarships are reviewed on an individual basis, and once issued will be final and non-negotiable
- Scholarships once issued must remain confidential
