At the University of Birmingham Dubai, we value the partnerships we have nurtured with schools in the UAE. We work closely with students, teachers, and careers advisors to help young people enhance their skills and smoothly transition from school to university.
Book a bespoke session
We deliver bespoke sessions at schools and sessions for students aged 16-18 to prepare them for the academic challenges of university. The sessions aim to prepare students for university challenges, raise awareness of future study and career opportunities and foster enthusiasm for learning.
For Year 12 and Year 13 students, receiving timely and accurate guidance is crucial as they navigate significant decisions about their future. At the University of Birmingham Dubai, we provide a variety of engaging presentations tailored to support students, regardless of where they plan to pursue their university education. These sessions cover essential topics such as:
- The advantages of pursuing higher education
- Selecting the right courses and universities
- Understanding the UCAS application process
- Crafting impactful personal statements
- Managing student finances and budgeting tips
- Making the most of university Open Days
Visit our state-of-the-art campus
We invite school and college groups to visit our outstanding campus, offering students a unique glimpse into university life. These visits help demystify higher education, whilst helping students understand their academic options and envision their future at university.
Our Outreach and Student Recruitment teams can arrange visits for students from Year 12 to Year 13, with activities tailored to different age groups. A typical visit for Year 12 students may include:
- A guided campus tour
- Meet current University of Birmingham Dubai students
- Informative presentations on applying to university, choosing your course, and student life
- Subject-specific taster lectures
Attend our Summer Camp
Each year, we proudly host our Summer Camp, welcoming over 100 high school students from across the UAE. This immersive week-long programme offers a variety of workshops and activities. While topics vary annually, the 2024 camp highlighted STEM subjects, including Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with our campus community, explore our cutting-edge facilities, and meet students and academic staff.
