'Intelligent campus’

Our campus is a Living Lab for research, industry collaboration, and teaching. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, it offers a world-class physical and digital experience for students, staff, and visitors. Using IoT technology, our bespoke mobile application helps users work smarter and manage their time more effectively.

Described as an ‘intelligent campus’, it is designed to embrace sustainable practices, ensuring we lead in corporate environmental responsibility. Our modern building adapts to changes in technology, learning, and climate. This innovative technology is integrated into our curriculum, across various disciplines, and utilised by industry partners through research projects, consultancy, and student internships.

    Teaching and learning

    Our campus is built around collaboration, reflecting real-world work environments. We have a variety of adaptable spaces, from large lecture theatres and laboratories to intimate seminar rooms, all designed to suit different learning styles and activities.

    Study spaces

    Throughout the campus, you'll find informal study areas and meeting rooms perfect for solo or group study. Our Library features rooms equipped for hybrid meetings and group work, with Wi-Fi access available to all students. The Siemens Innovation Lounge is ideal for group study and innovation, hosting events like presentations, hackathons, and workshops.

    Social spaces

    The Birmingham experience goes way beyond studying and learning. Outside of lectures, there are lots of spaces to relax and enjoy your free time. We have numerous social spaces to foster community and networking. Enjoy informal seating on the ground floor and dedicated Student Association spaces at the ends of our wings.

    Food and drink

    Our campus includes two main food outlets offering a range of refreshments and meals. Vending machines and a pantry are also available for preparing your own drinks and warming food. Nearby, Dubai International Academic City offers a variety of dining options. We encourage you to help reduce plastic waste by using reusable water bottles and coffee cups.

    Outdoor areas

    Our two shaded courtyards offer a peaceful retreat from the desert heat, providing our campus community with a calming space to socialise and work. We occupy a prominent position at the heart of Academic City, overlooking the stunning parkland, which features brand new sports facilities, including Padel and basketball courts.

    Prayer rooms

    We have male and female prayer rooms available throughout the campus and the Parklands. To locate a prayer room, please refer to the campus maps located by the lifts or ask at reception.
