Centre for the Study of the Middle Ages
The Centre for the Study of the Middle Ages facilitates academic research into the period c. 300 to c. 1500 CE, bringing together scholars of medieval history, literature, language, art, and archaeology. The Centre cuts across traditional disciplinary boundaries, and fosters collaboration and conversation.
It also hosts an annual public lecture. Other speakers have included Professor Miri Rubin, Professor James Graham Campbell, Professor Martin Carver and Professor Jonathan Riley-Smith.
CeSMA hosts an interdisciplinary research seminar series throughout the academic year, alongside the informal Conversations series, dedicated to the discussion of issues relating to the interdisciplinary study of medieval literature, history and culture. Information about the Centre’s activity is provided via our website and mailing list.
