Join us at our Careers in Marketing and PR panel event designed for Birmingham alumni who have graduated within the last ten years.
Our panel of professionals will give an insight into the industry, as well as an overview of some of the skills required and careers available in the sector. The event will aim to cover some of the opportunities and challenges facing the sector and provide discussions on topics such as influencer culture, the role of big data and the reality of a career in the industry. The panel will be chaired by Carla Amos, Director of Student Recruitment and Marketing at the University of Birmingham.
Tickets are £5 and include a complimentary drink. This event is open to graduates of all disciplines as well as current students.
Panel members confirmed so far include:
Andra Dinu (MSc Marketing Communications, 2011) Marketing Manager, Howsy
From Bucharest to London - via Birmingham. Andra started her marketing career in advertising, but her geeky nature and love of systems and numbers prevailed and she found her place in B2B tech companies. She worked for start-ups and international enterprises, and got familiar with all elements of the marketing mix in the process, but she's particularly fond of digital.
Alan Perrie (MSc Marketing, 2009) Brand Manager, Codemasters
Alan is an experienced Brand Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the computer games industry and before that the UK cinema industry. He is a marketing professional who is skilled in Product Management, Global Marketing Strategy and Digital Marketing.
Anthony Tattum (Manufacturing Engineering) Co-Founder and Managing Director, Big Cat
Anthony is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Big Cat, an integrated marketing communications agency with offices in London and Birmingham. Whether its digital, PR, advertising or creative Anthony's non-nonsense approach to communications has created hugely successful campaigns in healthcare, hospitality and destination marketing.
