Languages for All courses
Languages for All offers high-quality courses in a wide range of languages to UoB students as part of the University of Birmingham’s Institution Wide Language Programme (IWLP).
Whether you are a beginner in the language or wish to brush up your language skills, learning a language can be rewarding, fun, and a great way to increase your employability skills.
The Languages for All courses are designed to equip UoB students with practical skills in both spoken and written communication in your chosen language. Along the way, you will also understand more about the cultures of the countries in which the language is spoken.
Language course options
You can study a language as:
- A credit-bearing module (optional or compulsory) - for students who are eligible to take an optional or compulsory 20-credit language module as part of their degree.
- A Free Language course(FLC) – priority is given to full-time, campus-based undergraduate students who are not taking a language as a credit-bearing module. Also available for campus-based postgraduate students and University of Birmingham staff where availability permits.
