Khalid A. Al-Ghamdi qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Industrial Engineering from King Abdulaziz University in 2000. He worked for the Saudi Airlines during the period 2000-2002. He was awarded a scholarship to pursue his postgraduate studies from King Abdulaziz University in 2003. In 2004, he joined the University of Birmingham where he earned an MSc in Operations Management (2005) and a PhD in Optimization in Experimental Design (2011). He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified EFQM Assessor (Assessor of Business Excellence based on the EFQM Model). Dr Khalid is currently holding several positions including:
- Vice-Dean of the Research & Consulting Institute
- Deputy CEO, Jeddah Valley Technical Company (Saudi Arabia)
- Consultant in the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education
- Consultant of the University Vice-President for Business and Knowledge Creativity at King Abdulaziz University
- Member of the team in charge of the development of the third strategic plan for King Abdulaziz University
- Head of Research & Development Committee at the Industrial Engineering Department at King Abdulaziz University
- Head of the Innovation and Enterpnurship Department, Higher Education Ministry Conference of Saudi Students
